About the event
During the two day course students will make an urban lumber live edge slab table, bench or floating shelf from a selection of slab lumber we have available from a local nonprofit mill called Lumber Cycle. They are based in Ramona, CA and work with arborists, property owners and county officials to harvest downed and removed trees, milling them into affordable live edge slabs for local artisans to create beautiful furniture from. Typical species include Torrey Pine, Coastal Live Oak, Eucalyptus, Redwood, Cedar, Ash, California Pepper and many more. The slabs are selected on a first come basis based on sign up order but it may be possible to get specific species if it’s been prearranged with the instructor and it’s available from another supplier.
Days and Hours:
The course will run from 10am until 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
